Wellness Incentive Trips in Bali: A Guide for MICE and Incentive Planners

Wellness Incentive Trips in Bali: A Guide for MICE and Incentive Planners

| Leadership & Wellbeing

Why Wellness Belongs in Incentive Travel

Incentive trips reward the people who worked hardest all year, and they are often the people most in need of recovery. Planners have been moving in this direction for some time: in a 2017 Incentive Research Foundation study, 87% of planners said wellness was a critical focus for their own company, and 74% said it was for their clients.

Budgets are also tighter. The IRF’s 2026 Trends Report finds rising costs and flat budgets pushing planners towards closer destinations and shorter trips, and making relationships with partners on the ground more important. For programmes from Asia-Pacific, Bali fits that brief.

Bali as a MICE Destination

  • Proven for international events. Nusa Dua hosted the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in 2018 and the G20 Leaders’ Summit in 2022.
  • Close to source markets. Direct flights reach Bali from Singapore in about two and a half hours, Perth in about three and a half, Hong Kong in about five, and Sydney and Melbourne in around six.
  • In the region’s time zone. Bali runs on UTC+8, the same as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur and Perth.
  • Straightforward entry. Many nationalities can use Indonesia’s visa on arrival or e-VOA (ASEAN passports are visa-free), and Bali charges a separate tourist levy, paid online before travel. Check the current rules for every passport on your list.

Where a Physician-Led Programme Fits

Leaders Reset is a complete five-day, four-night programme at Grün Uluwatu, on Bali’s southern Bukit peninsula, for groups of 10 to 30. It suits the smaller, more senior end of incentive and MICE work:

  • President’s club or top-performer trips for a small winners’ group
  • Leadership incentives for regional or senior management teams
  • Private client programmes run by banks, insurers and professional firms
  • Partner, board or founder groups

It is not built for large groups. Thirty is the maximum, set by venue capacity. Grün Uluwatu operates as a hotel, so other guests may be on site; a full buy-out can be quoted separately.

Over the five days, participants have one-to-one or small-group consultations with our physicians, morning yoga, bodywork, meals curated to Ayurvedic principles, screen-free afternoons, and sound healing and a bonfire in the evening.

Each participant flies home with a written plan for diet, routine and practice, specific to them: a reward that keeps working after the trip.

How It Works With Your Agency

We work as the Indonesian land package:

  • Our team delivers the programme on the ground: venue, accommodation, meals, physician consultations, programme sessions, bodywork and private airport transfers, with Indonesian local taxes included.
  • You keep the client relationship and build around it: flights, insurance, extra nights, gifting and branding.
  • Agency rates for travel agencies, MICE planners and channel partners are available on request.
  • One point of contact. ChenChi Lai, our founder, travels with every group and handles the programme from first enquiry through to the closing day.

We contract and invoice in US dollars through our Indonesian company. For flights, visas and timelines, our guide to planning an executive offsite in Bali has the detail your client will ask about.

What to Check Before You Propose a Wellness Provider

  • Who leads it: named practitioners with qualifications you can verify, not just “wellness experts”.
  • Whether the teaching is in-house or subcontracted.
  • How health information is collected and kept confidential.
  • How dietary needs, injuries and medication are handled.
  • What is and isn’t included, especially transfers, taxes and treatments.
  • Whether the programme makes medical claims. It shouldn’t.

Leaders Reset is led by our own physicians, Dr. Roshan Baskota and Dr. Swekriti, both Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) graduates of Tribhuvan University in Nepal. We do not subcontract the teaching. The programme is education and lifestyle guidance, not medical treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What group sizes can you take?

From 10 to 30 for a private charter. Smaller groups can join a mixed charter, sharing the programme dates with other participants at a lower minimum.

Can the programme sit inside a longer trip?

Yes. As the land package, Leaders Reset covers the five days at Grün Uluwatu. You or your agency arrange everything before and after.

Do you offer agency rates?

Yes. Rates for travel agencies, MICE planners and channel partners are available on request.

What language is the programme in?

English.

Is this a medical treatment?

No. Our retreats offer education and lifestyle guidance. They are not medical treatment and don’t replace care from your own doctor.
